David is an experienced C-level executive and (recovering) attorney, with Fortune 500 (DoD) and Am. Law 100 (law firm) experience.He has co-founded several start-ups, served as CEO and COO of several businesses and has served on the boards of several privately held businesses (MedTech/Defense/Robotics/Media/CleanTech/SaaS). He has been one of 350 director level employees at a 15,000 employee defense contractor, and he has served on the leadership team of a $600M division of a publicly traded company.  He has also been employee #3 at a startup that grew from $500K to $25M in 3 years. He has participated in at $42M exit, and he has seen one crash and burn.

David has lived the entire early stage to hyper-growth experience. He has launched, landed, raised, crashed, survived, rebounded, grown, and exited. Also, he has served as a civilian contractor for a DoD funded program run out of the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base that supports technology transfer efforts of the Air Force Research Labs. He has extensive experience supporting technology transfer and commercialization activities for all branches of the DoD and has also supported commercialization of University derived technologies.

In addition, David serves on the board of several privately held companies, including a venture capital firm, a defense contractor, a manufacturing company, an enterprise level technology company, and a bio-tech start-up. He has also invested in serval regional start-ups and is an accredited investor.

David  received his juris doctorate, cum laude, with a certificate in international and comparative law from the Saint Louis University School of Law.  Following law school, he served as a judicial clerk to the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. During law school, David served as articles editor for the Saint Louis University Law Journal, a member of the law school’s Philip C.  Jessup International Moot Court team, and as a founder and founding executive managing editor of the Saint Louis – Warsaw Transatlantic Law Journal.  Prior to law school, Mr. Scott received his bachelor of arts in history from DePauw University.  He graduated from the oldest boarding school west of the Mississippi – Shattuck-St. Mary’s, which has graduated multiple Olympic gold medalists (hockey).
