Smart Cities Program Manager
John Putnam started as the Smart Cities Program Manager at Cincinnati Bell and CBTS in January 2018, focusing on Smart City initiatives throughout the country.

John has a BA in Finance and a MBA with a focus in Marketing from Miami University. He has spent the previous 25+ years in sales and management in the Information Technology and Telecommunications sectors, and has a strong background in voice, data, collaboration, security, and Wi-Fi solutions. Prior to coming to Cincinnati Bell Putnam has led many large public Wi-Fi implementations nationwide. 

He has spoken as panelist on bridging the digital divide and the business case for smart cities at the Cincinnati Neighborhood Summit and the Smart Cities Regional Summit in 2017 and 2018. John has also worked on the team that implemented the Smart City solutions in Covington Kentucky, Fairborn Ohio, and was recently awarded the City of Cincinnati Smart Cincy project. 

His experience in creating partnerships with smart cities stakeholders will provide the monetization and sustainability necessary to drive successful and sustainable smart cities implementations. He is currently working on projects to help drive economic development, eliminate healthcare deserts in disadvantaged neighborhoods, increase public safety, and proactively help address the opioid crisis.
