Michele Simmons has been with the City of Dayton since 1998. She is currently the Environmental Manager responsible for managing the City’s Storm Water and Source Water Protection Programs, Michele has been instrumental in the resolution of citizen complaints, emergency planning and response, and illicit discharge investigations resulting in the elimination of pollutants to the rivers and aquifer.  Michele also coordinates City facility compliance and Department community education and outreach. Michele is a co-chair of the City of Dayton Green Team, and former chair of the Water Department Energy Team, and Montgomery/Greene County Local Emergency Response Council.  Michele is an appointed member of the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund Natural Resources Assistance Council and Confluence (Water Technology Innovation Cluster) Boards; and an active member of the National Groundwater Association and Water Environment Federation. Prior to employment with the City, Michele worked as an environmental consultant for CH2M Hill in Dayton. Prior to consulting, Michele served as an officer in the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB. Michele has an MBA in Public Administration and a BS in Geology.
